About our scans
Quantum Aether measures how many public websites already use post-quantum key exchange. If you saw TLS connections from our server in your logs, this page explains them.
What the scan does
- Two TLS connections to port 443 per hostname: one offering X25519MLKEM768 with X25519 as Chrome does, one ordinary connection to read the certificate. Then the connection is closed.
- No HTTP request, no paths, no content, no login attempts, no vulnerability tests.
- Weekly for the Tranco top 10,000 and a few public watchlists; monthly for the top 100,000; a limited number of parallel connections.
- Results are published per hostname and in aggregate as open data (CC BY 4.0).
